Connect an AI tool
Connect ArtifactBridge once, then keep working inside the AI tool you already use. You usually do not need to paste tokens into a chat.
Local AI tools
- Open Settings → Install.
Download the ArtifactBridge desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux.
- Sign in in the desktop setup.
The setup detects and configures supported local tools on the machine.
- Check the connection from your agent.
Ask it what ArtifactBridge workspace it can see or ask it to find a known document.

ChatGPT
ChatGPT uses the official ArtifactBridge app instead of the local desktop setup. Connect the app, sign in and choose the workspace you want to use.
You only need the MCP endpoint when a tool asks for a custom remote connector. For normal setup, use the official app or ArtifactBridge installer.
Verify the connection
- Open Settings → Install and choose the setup path for your tool.
- For a local tool, finish setup in the desktop app. For ChatGPT, use the official ArtifactBridge app connection.
- Start a new agent conversation after configuration changes.
- Send the connection-check prompt below.
- Check that the response names the intended workspace and returns live results.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the connection that lets an AI tool call ArtifactBridge. The tool still uses its own AI account and permissions. A successful installation is not proof of a successful live request; verify from the conversation.
Connection, Skill installation, and automation
- Connection: lets the tool read and work with ArtifactBridge.
- Skill installation: adds reusable instructions to the tool.
- Local automation: lets the desktop app start a command-line agent when work arrives, subject to your device settings.
These are separate capabilities. A desktop AI app can be detected without its command-line tool being installed. Read the Coding tools status in the desktop app.
Use more than one tool or workspace
Different connected tools can work from the same documents and Rooms. Select the intended workspace before starting. If a workspace changes or a tool’s configuration is updated, restart the agent session and verify its workspace again. Access follows the connected identity; a second tool does not receive broader permission simply because the first tool can read an item.
Manage agent access
Open Settings → Members & Access → Access to inspect and revoke credentials. Revoke the affected access if a device is lost or a tool should no longer connect. Removing a Skill does not revoke a credential. For advanced setup, use the manual connection guidance in Settings → Install.
